Getting Started
What is eCBT and how does it guide my session?↓
eCBT (estimated core body temperature) is a physiology-informed thermal estimation based on peer-reviewed models. It tracks your heat adaptation over time using sauna duration, temperature, humidity, and individual physiology to guide you through optimal heat exposure zones.
Why track physiology instead of time?↓
Two people in the same sauna for the same duration adapt at completely different rates. Time is a guess. The peer-reviewed research identifies physiological thresholds where benefits activate, so SaunaMind tracks your heat adaptation response instead.
How long should I spend in each zone?↓
This varies by individual and your goals. Most research suggests 10 to 20 minutes in the Deep Hormesis zone, 38.5 to 39.0°C, is optimal for cardiovascular and longevity benefits. Start shorter and increase gradually as acclimatization improves.
The Science
What's the difference between the 5 zones?↓
Warm-Up: Body is waking to heat. Cardiovascular response begins.
Heat Adaptation: Plasma volume expands and sweating peaks.
HSP Activation: Heat shock proteins deploy for cellular repair.
Deep Hormesis: Growth hormone surges and longevity markers peak.
Caution: Benefits plateau and heat risk rises, so exit and cool down.
Is sauna safe for everyone?↓
Most people tolerate sauna well, but some should consult a doctor first, including pregnant women, people with uncontrolled hypertension, recent heart surgery, or fever. Stay hydrated and listen to your body.
How often should I use a sauna?↓
The Laukkanen longitudinal study found maximum cardiovascular benefit at 4 to 7 sessions per week. For most people, 2 to 3 sessions weekly is enough to see meaningful improvements while still allowing recovery.
Technical
Is my data secure?↓
Yes. We implement standard encryption and security practices. Your personal data is not shared with third parties without explicit consent. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
How does SaunaMind estimate my eCBT?↓
We use physiology-informed models trained on peer-reviewed data. Inputs include sauna temperature, humidity, session time, baseline fitness metrics, and acclimatization history. The result is a personalised heat adaptation trajectory that guides optimal exposure.
Troubleshooting
My zone estimate seems off. Why?↓
Estimates improve as the system learns your physiology. Hydration, caffeine, recent exercise, and acclimatization all affect heat response. If estimates consistently seem inaccurate, contact support.
I'm not seeing zone transitions. Is the app broken?↓
If you're new to sauna, it may take several sessions to reach higher zones. Start in a moderately hot sauna and gradually increase temperature and duration as your tolerance improves.
